Whidbey Island With My Sister - Coupeville

Tuesday we took a day trip to Whidbey Island
We drove to Mukilteo, took the 20 minute ferry ride to the island, and meandered up to Coupeville for lunch. Based on the recommendation of the couple we met at Tulip Town last month we tried Toby’s Tavern in Coupeville. It was a wonderful, old place full of locals. The restaurant is on the water.

Metal salmon make their way up this stone filled stream.
Next time we're on the island, we want to try the little restaurant down by the water.
Coupeville is a charming place

Coupeville in known for mussels. These platforms are part of a Penn Cove mussel farm. Click here for a video about growing mussels in Penn Cove, Coupeville. Mount Baker is in the distance.
