Snoqualmie Falls with Jan

Spectacular Snoqualmie Falls are less than an hour east of our home. 

We took my sister out to see them. 

The falls drop about 268 feet

Sometimes the mist is so heavy that you get drenched.

In the 1890s an underground power plant was built. It was the world's first completely underground power plant. The original generators are still functioning. A second power plant was built downstream from the falls. The power plants generate enough electricity to power about 16,000 homes. (Sources here and here)
