Feet & Preaching

... how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

But I say, Have they not heard? Yes, verily, their sound went into all the earth, and their words unto the ends of the world.  Romans 10: 14-18

And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not
Acts 28: 24

Treasures in Red Boxes

My sister found two red boxes in her basement
They were filled with treasures. Some items were duplicates of documents already in our archives. But many were precious "new" items.
This is Celia Cathcart Holton's report card from her senior year in high school. It shows the classes she took; gives us her graduation year; shows her mother's and father's signatures. Charlotte Crew was the principal. Later Charlotte married into the Holton family.
Our lives continue after our journey on earth. Our loved ones on the other side want to be remembered. Sometimes they are involved in our lives here on earth. Knowing them and their stories can sometimes help us as we navigate our earthly journeys.

Paying Attention

Sometimes the children point out the beauty around us
At a picnic the hamburger grilling was creating quite a bit of smoke. A young girl was trying to get our attention and pointed to the sky. When we looked, we saw beautiful rays of light beaming through the smoke and trees.

Salem - Yin Yu Tang House

Peabody Museum, Salem, Massachusetts
Yin You Tang - an entire house brought from China

“During the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), a prosperous merchant surnamed Huang built a stately sixteen-bedroom house in China’s southeastern Huizhou region, calling his home Yin Yu Tang. … home to the Huang family for more than two hundred years until 1982 when the last descendants moved from the village. … The family’s well-documented genealogy and the accumulation of furnishings passed down through eight generations offer the opportunity to understand historical changes in China as they affect individuals in their daily lives and cultures on a global scale.”  https://www.pem.org/visit/yin-yu-tang
