Solar Panel, Power Pack, Christ & Light

Recently we purchased a power pack as part of our emergency preparedness supplies. The power pack can be charged with electricity from a house outlet, from a car battery, or from a solar panel. The other day we set up the solar panel to test it. Lights indicated power was going from the sun to the solar panel and into the power pack.

When I looked at this picture of the solar panel and power pack, I thought of the Son and the way His light gives us energy and power - not only in times of emergencies but all day, every day.

We need to place ourselves so we can receive the Son and all the blessings He has for us. When we do this, our "power packs" are charged.

That "charge," or light will carry us through the ups and downs of our lives - even on cloudy days when can't get our acts together well enough to be directly in the light of the Son.

The scriptures have many references about Christ and the light He brings to the world and to us individually.

Christ said - "I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." (John 8: 12)

"And I will also be your light in the wilderness, ... " (1Nephi 17: 13)
