The Wenatchee River, which ran by our rental house in Leavenworth, is home to some major rapids. We went on a rafting trip but opted to go on the calmer part of the river. In fact, ours was called a "family float," a reflection of the relatively tame nature of the journey. Our rafting trip started about 15 minutes east of Leavenworth and floated into the Columbia River.
We were on the water about two hours. The water was too cold for swimming or water play. We got out of the water at Wenatchee and drove back up to Huck’s Landing for lunch and smores.
Lunch at Huck's Landing at the end of the trip
There were ropes to swing on, hammocks to rest in, and horseshoes to play
We needed this fire to warm up after our rafting adventure
S'mores for dessert
