Remembering & Repetition

“I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them” (2 Peter 1:12)

Scriptures contain much counsel about the importance of remembering. In the scripture above, Apostle Peter essentially tells the people he's going to remind them about something they already know.

Sometimes we think we've already heard it all about gospel topics and we might tune out when the subject is something we've already heard many, many times. However, if we listen with open heart and open mind, the Spirit can teach us.

"... repetition is a basic principle of teaching and learning. The gospel contains truths, doctrines, and principles that we need to keep in our minds and hearts as we live our lives from day to day. We’re much more likely to remember these things if we hear them repeated often." February 2016 New Era
