Why Can't I Find Hellmann's Mayonnaise Out Here?

Many groceries and several months later, I still couldn't find Hellmann's mayonnaise. I turned to the Internet for answers and discovered it's another of those east-west things, like the butter sticks. See here.

Hellman's started in New York City. Best Foods began in California. In 1932 Best Foods bought Hellmann's. Nowadays both products are made in the same plant using the original recipes. Although the ingredients for both products are the same, the proportions differ resulting in slightly different tastes. Hellmann's is sold in the East. Those of us out West find Best Foods mayonnaise on the shelves. 

We imported one jar of Hellmann's from Ohio. It's almost empty.
