Kirkland Walk

Pictures from a recent walk downtown. Here are some reasons we love this wonderful community. All of these photos were taken along the few blocks from our place to the lake.
Here we go
looking west from our driveway - camellia bushes on the right
Lake Washington in the distance & Seattle across the lake
This bush just begs to be touched - so soft & feathery
vivid colors
Park Lane was recently redesigned & is even nicer than before. The block long street is lined with art galleries, small shops & restaurants (including our gelato store). The street is sometimes closed to traffic for community events.

back to our street
"Everything" is within walking distance - above - the library
below left - community pool - There's a 400 seat performance center next to the pool
below right - shopping area with grocery (blue roof), restaurants, bakery, fish store, independent book store, movie theater & other shops
Downtown Kirkland is built up with apartments and condos

Public art abounds - This life sized statue is based on a real person, Betty Lou

good hair cuts here

monkey puzzle tree - one of my favorite trees
I miss the oaks and maple trees - But I love the evergreen trees
- so much green - year round - beautiful
Marina Park at Lake Washington - at the bottom of Kirkland Avenue
venue for summer concerts, Wednesday Farmers Market, & other community events
postcard pretty
This is a beautiful place - a happy place
Come visit us!
