Our son Patrick drove from Montana to spend a few days with us.
We took a day trip to Whidbey Island

Joe waits in the car, first in line on this side of the ferry.
We were on the Cathlemet ferry, capacity 124 vehicles.
These children are at the front of the ferry.
They jumped every time a wave hit the ferry.
All sorts of vehicles ride the ferry. Here's an ambulance.
On previous trips we've seen a school bus and a TV mobile van.
The ferry moves at a good clip.
Note the airplane in the top right of the photo.
This ferry is going from Clinton, Whidbey Island to Mukilteo

In Langley on Whidbey Island
We stopped in Coupeville to get a few things at the lavender store. In talking with the clerk, we discovered she was the former neighbor of our friends in Kirkland.
