Salesman's Hint

Do you ever wonder why certain memories stick in your mind? I certainly do. When I stayed at my sister's recently, I started hanging up my slacks in the closet. Then I noticed the dresser drawers and a childhood memory came back to me.

Mom once told me, perhaps we were in a hotel room on a family trip, that Poppie, her father, would hang his trousers from a dresser drawer in order to keep them from getting wrinkled. He also used to do that when he was home and it was a source of irritation to Gram, Mildred Browne Floyd.

Poppie was a salesman for Baker Perkins Bakery Equipment and was frequently away on business trips.
