We'd warned our landlord that our refrigerator was making big noises and was probably on its last legs. It was the original refrigerator so the landlord knew it was at the end of it usefulness. While our grandson was with us we discovered that the freezer wasn't working. He decided to use a straw for his ice cream. We moved our frozen food to the freezer in the garage and called our landlord again.
Then the refrigerator conked out and we called our landlord again. He's been wonderful about the few repairs we've had thus far so we were surprised to discover there had been miscommunication in the office and our refrigerator hadn't been ordered. We had to make do with a small refrigerator on our kitchen counter and a large cooler full of ice in the garage. After six days the refrigerator was delivered.
There was just one tiny problem - the refrigerator was 1/4 inch too tall.
The arrangement in the picture above would have been more than a bit cramped.Fortunately there was extra wood at the bottom of the cabinet. We had to wait a few hours for the carpenter to arrive. A cut was made and the refrigerator slid into its proper place.
We have our nice kitchen area back now - and a working refrigerator and freezer.
