4-H was part of my summers for many, many years. Usually I did cooking and sewing projects. Mom was my coach. Sometime in the mid1950s I also did woodworking; Dad became my woodworking coach. I made this waste basket from leftover paneling Dad used in the "girls' room" at Oak Street. My two sisters and I shared this room.
We've used the waste basket many decades. The packers jammed something into the wastebasket when they were getting us ready to trek across country. It's the only item that was broken in our move. The wood is still a rich, reddish color after all these years.
