We babysat a bearded dragon lizard for a week. Beardy came with quite a few supplies - a big cage complete with a cave, a pond, decorations, lights and a heating pad; mealworms (needed to be refrigerated); crickets, and cricket food (to fatten the crickets up before they were fed to Beardy). Notice that Beardy even has his own smoothie (looks a bit like mine, see here). The syringe is for feeding Beardy the smoothie - and water. Seems that Beardy doesn't drink much water on his own.
Mealworms & kale for dinner
We discovered it's pretty difficult to get a lizard to open his mouth
when he doesn't want to.
Beardy spent much of each day looking at his reflection.
Did he think this was a rival of some sort?
Beardy has grown quite a bit. See pictures from his previous visit with us here.
(PS - He and his boy changed the spelling of his name)
