"Don't let the magic slip away or you'll sink into the quicksand of the ordinary."*When my mind read this line, it immediately substituted "Spirit" for magic and gave me an intense reminder of the importance of making spiritual matters integral parts of our lives.
There is nothing ordinary about being a child of Heavenly Parents. There is nothing ordinary about having Jesus Christ as our Brother, Savior, and example. There is nothing ordinary about having the Holy Ghost to help us as we make this journey on earth.
The "quicksand of the ordinary" is what causes us to lose sight of who we are and to lose hope.
My version of the quote:
"Don't let the Spirit slip away or you'll sink into the quicksand of the ordinary."
