The Spikes by Merrily Dicks
350 spikes from the abandoned railroad that is now the Cross Kirkland Corridor were used to create The Spikes sculpture. Volunteers searched for the spikes and put them in buckets the city placed along the corridor.
The artist took a welding class at a local technical college and collaborated with fellow students, Riley Schroeder and Yancy McCoy.
