Tulips - Part 1 of 4 Parts

Tulip time is a beautiful time in this neck of the woods. About an hour north of us RoozenGaarde has more than 1,000 acres of tulip, daffodil, and iris fields. RoozenGaarde is the largest flower bulb grower in North America. The five acre display garden is glorious with over 250,000 bulbs in bloom. It is spectacular!

This post is about unusual tulips in the display garden
these looked like yellow heads of lettuce

look how many petals per bloom

these petals folded in interesting ways

there were a number of varieties with double stems coming from each bulb

daffodils & tulips with peach/beige-like colors

interesting design

I love this color and texture combination

these look like peonies

interesting leaves

these petals looked like Venus flytraps

I'm sure these two images will end up in a post that says something about getting outside our comfort zones or stretching or something equally as profound :)

More tulips to follow!
