"This Nativity is made from brass bullet casings. Each casing is cut open and pounded flat, designed, then cleaned with solvents and polished with sand. The Nativity was created by a young man named Calvin Faylah in Monrovia, Liberia. ... The casings were collected from streets and villages throughout Liberia as a leftover remnant of the First and Second Liberian Civil Wars (1989-2003)."
When I saw this Nativity, I thought of Isaiah's words about war and peace.
"... and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more." Isaiah 4:2
