Each Life That Touches Ours For Good

My calling for the last few years has been secretary for the women's organization, Relief Society, in our congregation. Maurine, on the left, has been Relief Society president for about 3 1/2 years. Her latest counselors were Devry, in middle with me, and Garla, on right. In early February they were released but I was kept on as secretary for a new president and counselors. It was a blessing to serve with these ladies. They have "touched my life for good."

When people serve one another, wonderful things happen. Everyone grows and is blessed - those being served and those serving. These thoughts bring the following hymn to mind.

Each life that touches ours for good

Reflects thine own great mercy, Lord;

Thou sendest blessings from above

Thru words and deeds of those who love.

What greater gift dost thou bestow,

What greater goodness can we know

Than Christlike friends, whose gentle ways

Strengthen our faith, enrich our days.
For worthy friends whose lives proclaim

Devotion to the Savior's name,

Who bless our days with peace and love,

We praise thy goodness, Lord, above.
