Mementoes & Remembering

Cassandra visited the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, England. "A giant mausoleum of the past. Inside, she knew, were rooms and rooms, each one full of history.

Thousands of items, out of time and place, reverberating quietly with the joys and traumas of forgotten lives."  "The Forgotten Garden" by Kate Morton (146)

I think of the many, many mementoes we have - out where they can be seen as well as stored in bins in the garage and under the bed. These often "ordinary" items have stories that link us with the people we love.  Saving the mementoes and the stories help keep us connected with the people we love - so they are not forgotten.
